What is the difference between pasteurization and sterilization?

Pasteurization reduces the microbial load and requires chilled distribution. Sterilization achieves commercial sterility (typically F0 ≥ 3 min) and, combined with hermetic or aseptic packaging, delivers ambient shelf-stability of 6–24 months.

When should I choose UHT over retort sterilization?

UHT preserves the sensory profile of liquid products (milk, juice, plant drinks) with a 2–5 s treatment at 135–150 °C, paired with aseptic filling. Retort is required for solid or semi-solid products already packed in hermetic containers (cans, glass, retort pouches).

Do you supply continuous or batch retort systems?

Both. Continuous retorts (hydrostatic or rotary) suit high-volume canned fish and pet food. Batch autoclaves — water spray, steam-air overpressure or water immersion — are preferred for jams, ready meals and multi-format production.
